In about 1932, Jules Vermeire designed for Leerdam Glass a pressed art-glass 9.5 inch tall statue titled ‘Madonna’. During the second half of the 1930s Kent Art Ware copied the piece but added what appears to be a grape cluster at its base. The Vermeire work was also copied, sometimes weighted sometimes not, by Lenox China and ABCO (Alexander Backer company of New York). Those makers also included the cluster.
